Historian, at community college for 30 years, lives in Oskaloosa, and serves on the city council. Ran for the the house 2 years ago. Running for Senate in District 44. Concerns are school vouchers, 6 week abortion, book bans, eminent domain. Decided to run in August.

Discussion of Chris Johnson donation of space, and use of theater for special events. Space is free through November.
We can put signs on the brick building. Waiting on Harris signs. Potential lIvestream of debate on in the theater on Tuesday at 8pm.
Also Rob Sand is in town on Tuesday Sept 10th. Voting to accept Chris Johnson’s offer. Linda motions , Carol second.

Holly Moore: MIke Brown reached out and office space is also available, which can put signs in. Also John Kesterson also offered his windows to use for signage.
New Business / Upcoming Events
Tuesday Debate Event – Walz event at 8pm – Amanda and Hattie will work on it and send email out to everyone. Potluck.
HyVee Block Party from Sept 28th 11am-2pm Tom and Lisa invited to join the event.
Mini flags and flags candy, friendship bracelets, Amanda will send friendship bracelet links.
Budget of $100 Linda raises motion, Lorene seconds. All in favor. Motion passes.
Discussion of Mailers, Discussion to get more quotes for pricing on 5×7 two sided mailer. Discussion of how to handle address returns, and agreement to do post cards and Republicans/Independents. Proposal to get quotes from other vendors, and number on a smaller card to send out to republican voters. Agreed to approve this measyre via email. Lorene gives affirmative vote on whatever is decided.
Jerry Avise-Krause Report
The IA Democratic party state DEI campaign met and working on plan to recruit under recruited people to support candidates and working to train ourselves on DEI sense and sensibilities, and work by vice-chair to lead training for staff and eventually roll out to county parties. Next training will be September 12th.
Church event – Lutheran church Briggs and 2nd Street September 24th – drop off at 3pm
goal of 12 casseroles, of 9×12 casserole.
Send out an email for signs up Hattie will do 2. Lorene will do 4. Carol ill do 2. Need 4 more.
Drop off to door by parsonage garage- drop at 3pm on September 24th baked.
Treasurer Report
We received $330 donation via ActBlue.
Root beer float events brought in $226.52 / 6 concerts in 7 weeks.
Still need to tally donations from Bohannan fundraiser.
Christina Day Report
Holly Moore report: Christina went to Everybody’s for meet and greet. Pickleball event went out to all parties. then in the evening pie aution, she spoke and Tom O’Donnell spoke and raised a little over $3000 dollars. Christina was unbelievable. After they spoke everyone was cheering. Also we got so many people signed up to canvas. Everyone was very impressed with Christina Bohannan. Space is a gift to the local party and Helen is videotaping the space and will share. Hours are open from 1-4pm during the week. Then 7 days a week in October. Everyone’s welcome to come and use the space. Turnout was over a 100 people. Also, pie bakers are excited to do an assortment of pies for future events. Will not be a problem finding bakers. Every Republican farmer at the farm event with Susie donated to the Bohannan campaign.,

Chamber of Commerce hosting event on the Oct 15th or 16th. Susie will see if they will move up the date.
